I really enjoyed this next installment and have given it 5 stars - the author's work just gets better and better. While the story does contain some proof-reading errors - words that shouldn't be there or a word that has been missed, scrambled or out of order - these are minimal and do not adversely affect the story. In this installment we find Madi, Josh, Anabess and Raaduke going off in search of the last out-post of the Ancients. They have to follow a host of clues to find the outpost, whilst staving off the Nevargh military and a mercenary group known as the Red Novas, in order to ensure the balance of power doesn't end up in the hands of Sonti and his Nevargh collaborators - lots of tense action and close calls ensure the story ticks along at a nice pace. The secondary story has Maria, Dorna, Ranik, Lethiel and Duke Charless following the evidence-trail that could possibly incriminate General Sonti in the murder of several members of the Nevargh royal family several years before thus hopefully bringing him down.What I love about this book is the inclusion of excerpts from "futuristic books" that help the reader to learn more about the universe that Powers has created - these are found at the beginning of each chapter. Secondly, in this book we get to learn more about the Navargh and their society and their point of view - in the previous books you see them only as the bad guys. In this book you get the chance to see that some Navargh have a different interpretation of what their government is doing. By doing this, Powers gives the different "peoples" of his universe a "three-dimensional feel", rather than being a stereo-typical bad guy/good guy. Really recommend this rather exciting, action-packed story that also incorporates a sense of humour within its pages.

The author chose to give the last book in the series a price of free so that's where I started meaning it took several chapters to get the gist of the MANY characters and their roles. With that said I did like the story and found it hard to put down. Not certain I cared for scene changes mid-sentence all the time. Ok, not mid sentence but close. It's still a good story told well and worth any sci-fi readers time.
Here is something I'm not sure the author thought of, I know the ending to the series, I doubt I will go back and start at the beginning. Not a great way to give sales a kick.
Good read. All Needs significant editing. I enjoyed all three of the books and look forward to the next releases.

This book is worth every penny I paid and then some. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading others by this author.
KP has written a SyFy novel of deep space with many aliens. One species decides to conquer the known universe. The race that Is attempting to began constant warfare with the intent to destroy the solar systems. Has been at war for centuries. The human race finds a way to stop their invasions. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
